APU ALUMNI TRAN THIEN HONG ANH

Tran Thien Hoang Anh, was the Salutatorian of APU’s class of 2013. With her excellent academic record at APU, Hong Anh transferred seamlessly into to the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), majoring in Chemistry & Pre-Dentistry. Although this major can be stressful and requires a large time commitment, Hong Anh still balances her time between studying and participating in a number of extracurricular activities, most notably serving as Vice President of the UMKC Vietnamese Student Association. In this position, Hong Anh has learned much about leadership, communication, and teamwork, all important skills for any student studying abroad.

After graduating from UMKC, Hong Anh will pursue the Doctor of Dental Medicine in Dentistry at Oregon Health & Science University as part of the class of 2023. In addition to studying and research, Hong Anh will continue to spend much of her time serving in social organizations such as Save the Children in Vietnam, Health & Humanitarian Aid, and the Viet Learning Community & Development Center. These activities have given her bravery and confidence as well as improving her professional skills. APU is proud that Hong Anh is living her dream. We wish her the best as she realizes her passion for medicine.
