APU ALUMNI - DR. HO HOANG DUY

Dr. Ho Hoang Duy, one of the brightest stars among APU's alumni, demonstrated exceptional talent from his very first days at APU. Graduating as the outstanding valedictorian of the Class of 2014 from the APU American International Schools, Dr. Duy continued his pursuit of knowledge in the United States and currently holds the position of Assistant Professor at California State University, Fullerton.

Immediately after graduating from APU, Dr. Hoang Duy was honored to receive a full scholarship from the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC) for Computer Science. Throughout his studies in the U.S., Dr.Duy continuously achieved admirable milestones:
Received the prestigious Dean's International Scholar Award (DISA) for his Master's program.
Won the Hack-A-Roo programming competition for two consecutive years (2019-2020). This prestigious award marked a turning point, opening the door for Duy to pursue a Ph.D. scholarship in Artificial Intelligence at UMKC.
Actively participated as a member of the UMKC Student Council.
Graduated with "Summa Cum Laude" honors and as a "UMKC's Honors Graduate" from the UMKC Honors College.
Completed dual Ph.D. degrees in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science.

Even though he has achieved remarkable success in the U.S., Dr. Duy always cherishes the precious memories from APU – the very school that nurtured him and his siblings, Hoang Phuc, Hoang Duy, and Phuong Uyen. All three were outstanding Valedictorians/Salutatorians of the classes of 2013, 2014, and 2020, and have now achieved great success on the global stage.
On the momentous graduation day for the Class of 2025, Duy sent a video offering profound advice to the graduating class and expressing his sincere gratitude to Dr. Thy Binh and the entire school: "Thank you for giving me a chance to share a message today. I wish you all the best in your education and look forward to seeing the achievements that you will accomplish."

With his unique approach to conquering challenges and relentless efforts, Duy has become a tremendous source of inspiration for future generations of APU students. APU is incredibly proud of Duy's brilliant journey to success and is confident that he will continue to shine and contribute significant value to the international scientific community. We wish Duy continuous passion and even greater success in his future endeavors!
