Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Friends of APU,

Since its beginning, APU International School is committed to not only providing the best quality education for its students, but also placing them into top ranked U.S. universities. We take special care to assure that our students have a good academic foundation and are knowledgeable of U.S. culture to make the transition to university as smooth and rewarding as possible. Nevertheless, we also realize the importance of having our students develop their understanding and appreciation of Vietnamese culture.

Our curriculum is U.S. based and our courses are taught as though the students were attending a private preparatory school in the U.S. To achieve this, the majority of our teachers are from the U.S. and we require all our teachers to be English teachers as well as have strong credentials in their teaching disciplines.

U.S. schools have always stressed the importance of treating students as individuals and providing individual assistance where necessary. APU has always followed this philosophy and works diligently to see that no child is left behind. Indeed, U.S. teachers take a several classes that focus on their being able to work with a wide variety of students.

Another facet of U.S. education is the “open door” policy regarding communication between the teacher and parent and parent with the school administration.  We welcome comments from parents, relatives, and friends at any time about matters related to APU. All comments are carefully considered and responded to in timely manner. In this regard, I hope that we can have a personal meeting at your convenience. I look forward to hearing from you.

Roger Nibler, Ph.D.
