Elementary Students embark on a journey to Tao Dan Park
On Tuesday the 13th of December, the entire elementary campus spent the morning at Tao Dan Park in District 1 for group games, individual games, and free play. The students arrived in the park on school buses at about 9 a.m. and were greeted by the international teachers and Principal Roger Nibler. A few teachers led games that are popular at American day and overnight camps with the whole group like “Over-Under” and “Blob Tag.”
After a snack break, with healthy fruits and vegetables prepared by the canteen staff, the students got to choose among four game areas: 1) Hula hoops & jump rope; 2) Kickball; 3) Capture the Flag; 4) Tug of War. Tug of War turned out to be especially popular, as even smaller children showed amazing strength as they pulled their way to victory against their opponents.
Lunch was a picnic in the sculpture garden and consisted of delicious sandwiches and fruit, prepared and brought to the park with care by the elementary canteen staff. After lunch, the children had free time in the well-equipped playground and then rode the school buses back to school for a delayed and much-needed nap.
This photo gallery can barely convey the excitement and fun that all the children had that day!
