Dr. Binh Thy Nguyen Tran

Dr. Binh Thy Nguyen Tran has served as the superintendent of APU International School since its inception and has also been the principle driving force behind its founding. Dr. Binh has served as a Board Member of a number of prestigious universities in the United States. After serving as CEO, founder, and chairperson of many well-established companies and organizations within the United States and across Asia, Dr. Binh returned to Vietnam in 1991 with the wish to provide the country with access to formal, American education.

This dream manifested itself in the establishment of not only an American university, but also K-12, which have helped to meet the needs of students from all socioeconomic backgrounds. She is continuously reaching out to invite top US educators as well as networking with higher tier US universities to join her in the educational development of quality programs in Vietnam. In serving her mission, she is always searching for the most practical and efficient means to facilitate Vietnamese students in their upper education study.

With APU, Dr. Binh has sought to package the curriculum and best practices from American education into an educational program that addresses the immediate academic needs of students while also preparing them for life and higher education abroad. Through her efforts, she has helped to send over 2,000 Vietnamese students to the US to pursue further studies.

Dr. Binh has dedicated herself to making improvements to the academics and the opportunities available to both students and graduates. Her experiences in the US and in Vietnam, combined with her “can do” attitude, have allowed her to act upon these ambitions. In creating APU, Dr. Binh has sought to provide a safe and nurturing yet firm environment for students to develop into responsible, educated scholars.
