About Us

APU International School is a private coeducational international school enrolling students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. We currently operate a secondary campus and a separate elementary (K-5) campus. APU International School has been operating in Ho Chi Minh City since 2004 and growing. Many of our high school students have aspirations of going to college or university in the United States upon completing the standard US High School course of study at APU.

Instruction is conducted in English, but there is an English Language Development (ELD) program available to students who require it. Our ELD program is an intensive, English for Academic Purposes one where students study Monday through Friday for nearly four hours a day. The program exists to develop the English-language skills of entering students and to prepare them for a smooth successful integration into our California-curriculum high school or middle school.

District 11 is about five kilometers away from District 1 (the center) and the school’s campuses are located in the district center on Lanh Binh Thang St. and Lac Long Quan St. The Middle/High School campus includes a science laboratory, separate music and art rooms, a canteen, a library, computer labs, a book store, an assembly hall and more than 60 modern classrooms. Classrooms are fitted with a work area for the homeroom teacher, projectors and desktop computers. APU also has a separate boys and girls dormitories located next to the school campus for students whose families live outside Ho Chi Minh City. All APU International School facilities and their entrances are monitored by around the clock security.

APU International School offers a student-centered culture guided by decades of classroom-proven best practices. We have talented, caring and experienced faculty that are well prepared to address the needs of your child.

APU is accredited by Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) to offer an American curriculum to Vietnamese students and is currently undergoing steps to receive accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Council of International Schools (CIS). It is currently a member of the College Board, and is an official SAT testing site.
